Autumn in D4

Today was a perfect kind of Autumn day - blue skies, white, fluffy clouds, and a briskness in the air that required a scarf and hat.  The best kind of day!

Our day started nice and easy, with my two favorite things: coffee and Mr. Darcy (sigh):

We had pancakes for breakfast.  It was Carys' first time having pancakes and she loved them.

(Look at my poor frying pan. I need to replace it.  With this.)

She loved her pancakes.  The stewed peaches, not so much.  I won't tell you what happened about 10 minutes after she ate them.  You're welcome.

Then she played while I cleaned up.  This is how I often find her when things get quiet:

I love it!  She sits quietly and reads her books (most of the time she knows when it's upside down, but this must have been before her morning coffee).  It's the cutest thing.  She takes after her Aunty T.   :)

Then, beacuse it was a beautiful day and it had rained for the last week or more, we went for a walk.  We went out and about in Ballsbridge, walked by the American Embassy:

We crossed the River Dodder, this way looks toward the new Lansdowne (Aviva) Stadium (the Rugby stadium) and down toward Herbert Park.

Here's is the bridge that this area of Dublin, Ballsbridge, is named for - built in 1791.

I had a really adorable walking companion, except she got a cushy ride the whole way.

Before we went home, however, I stopped to take a photo of this beautiful sight....

...on this beautiful road, the famed Raglan Road (on an Autumn day)...

 ...whilst sipping this delicious drink.
What is this, you might ask?  A Pumpkin Spice Latte?  Alas, it is not.  It is, however, the next best thing. The GINGERBREAD Latte!  I realise that I'm about 5 years late in discovering it but it is GOOOOD.  A definite close 2nd and enough to get me through the Autumn without my Pumpkin Spice.

I made this for dinner, a recipe from Cooking Light (I promise it tastes better than it looks in this photo).

We had it with wild rice with cranberries, pecans and scallions, and a fall salad....delish!

Have a cozy evening, everyone!
